Ferra specialises in the design, manufacture, assembly and test of aerospace structures and sub-systems.
Serving local and overseas defence and aerospace companies, we support our customers on development programs, established platforms and provide a wide range of services including spare parts for regional, business and military services.
Our products have proven to be highly competitive in international markets, with exports amounting to over 70% of our business. One of our key success factors has been the formation of a number of alliances with major international aerospace and defence companies.
Based on ongoing performance and providing best value, Ferra has been able to continuously expand this market and has become one of the largest independently owned Australian manufacturers servicing the aerospace and defence industries.

What We Do
Ferra has invested in a large scale development program for high speed machining processes on aerospace materials. The developed technologies and process have been the foundation of our leadership in being able to push the common boundaries of machining, and produce titanium components with a level of complexity, quality and efficiencies far beyond to standard benchmarks.
The machining division is exceptionally well equipped, with over 38 CNC machines. Capacity is predominantly state of the art modern five axis machines with 18’000 – 25’000 rpm spindles, ranging in size from 500 mm (20”) to 3.3m (130”). The advanced machining know-how, machine size range, and high number of modern five axis machines, makes Ferra a major global capacity in this specific field.
