Hardman Bros is a family owned Australian gear manufacturing and general engineering company.
The business has grown to be a significant manufacturer in the engineering industry, employing over 30 people, with over 5,000 sq metres of floor space and some of the largest and most technologically advanced equipment available.
As part of the Hardman Bros commitment to innovative and skilled engineering, in 1999, R & I Instrument and Gear Co. (Aust) Pty Ltd became a subsidiary company of Hardman Bros.
R & I was first established in 1948 and covers over 2,000 sq metres of floor space. The company continues to operate in its niche market of precision instrument components and scientific parts, and is highly regarded as a quality supplier to many of Australia’s leading manufacturer.
What We Do

Australia's Leading gear cutting specialist, we have the capacity up to gear cut up to 1500mm (1.5 metres) in diameter and gear grind up to 725mm in diameter.
Australia's leading Gear Grinding Specialists, we use some of the world's most advanced machinery including the Niles ZE800 Profile Gear Grinder.
A leading machinist of precision parts with capabilities including Turning, Milling, Pressing, Honing, Slotting, Welding using CNC Machinery, just to name a few.
We also make the HADBRO transmission range of agricultural gearboxes and right angle drive gearboxes for most applications.
