Who We Are
The L. S. Starrett Company, founded in 1880, manufactures more than 5,000 variations of Precision Tools, Gauges, Measuring Instruments and Saw Blades for industrial, professional and consumer markets worldwide.
Starrett, a leader who has set the standard for fine precision tools in industry for over 131 years, has rightfully earned the title, "World's Greatest Toolmakers"
Today, the company employs about 1,800 people worldwide. Most precision tools continue to be manufactured in the Athol plant, where it is not uncommon to see devoted generations of toolmakers with 30 or more years of experience.
What We Do
Precision Tools, Gauges and Instruments
The broad Starrett product line includes precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, rules, etc.), levels, electronic gauges, dial indicators, gauge blocks and granite surface plates and custom engineered products. The company offers metrology equipment including optical measuring projectors, vision systems and multi-sensor measuring systems, many of which are custom engineered.
Saw Blade Products
While best known for precision tools in the United States, Starrett is also a major, worldwide manufacturer of saw blade products. The saw blade product group includes three categories. Band saw blades are used primarily in manufacturing facilities. The Power Tool Accessories and Hand Saws group include hole saws, jig and reciprocating blades and hacksaw products.
