Sick is one of the world's leading producers of sensors and sensor systems for industrial applications. Sensors and systems of the types developed, produced and sold by SICK are classic investment goods.
The products and associated services are sold almost exclusively to customers in the industry. SICK sensors touch people's lives every day, making their lives easier, protecting from danger and providing them with better service.
SICK Pty Ltd was established in Australia as a wholly owned subsidiary of SICK AG, Germany in September 1982 with our New Zealand Sales Office established in March 1998. Our position as market leader for sensors has been built and continues to be built on the reputation of the quality of our products and our know-how to solve complex applications.
Our parent company, SICK AG was founded in 1946, and has grown a global presence with almost 50 national and international subsidiaries and sales offices. SICK currently employs more than 5,000 employees.
What We Do
The machine tools sector represents a wide spectrum. Whether presses, milling machines, turning tools, cutting or sawing machines, and much else besides; whether large processing centres or small stand-alone equipment – all of them require control, protection, inspection and monitoring.
SICK sensors and sensor systems cover the whole range of these requirements – thanks to a wide variety of products. A few examples:
Protecting a press brake
Both the front and the back of a hydraulic press brake are protected with a safety camera system and a host/guest system, consisting of a multiple light beam safety device and a safety light curtain to prevent access from the back.
Safe functions in the production area: material removal point on a racking station
The racking station before a robot cell is protected with a safety light curtain. A multiple light beam safety device with a deflector mirror provides access protection behind the racking station.
