Our capability statement outlines areas of expertise in laser cutting and our engineering Division Sonnex Engineering Pty Ltd covers all forms of structural steelwork and fabrication.
Our specialty area is large thicknesses, large sheet sizes of stainless steel (6m x 3m up to 32mm) where we can lasercut with precision using nitrogen, including piercing small holes, which enables flanges and wear plates to be made as a more cost effective solution for our customers.

What We Do
Our new 7kW laser cutting capability offers two flatbed cutting areas of 6m x 3m (each) in the following sheet thicknesses; mild steel 1mm to 35mm, Stainless Steel 1mm to 32mm, Aluminium 1mm to 15mm and can offer finished items that are burr, spatter and burn free so that there is no secondary finishing or cleaning required for end customers. Items can be readily etched with centrelines and part numbers for ease of assembly at the destination and this is included in our pricing.
Laser cutting using a flatbed area of 6m x 3m provides advantages that with benefits to our customers in fast turnaround times with precision cutting and reduced labour costs over plasma and other cutting techniques.
Sonnex will lasercut small quantities, and there are no minimum charges (except for specialist metals such as Bisalloy), with delivery anywhere in Australia (freight at cost), with free delivery within Adelaide metropolitan area.
