Claims of Dumping Aluminium Extrusions Being Probed

26 Jun 09

Australian customs officials will investigate claims aluminium extrusions from China are being dumped in the local market.

Capral Ltd announced on Wednesday that Customs would look into the claims following an application made by the aluminium product supplier on behalf of the Australian industry producing similar goods.

"The Australia Customs and Border Protection Service has today announced that exports to Australia of certain aluminum extrusions from the People's Republic Of China will be the subject of an investigation into alleged dumping and subsidisation," Capral said in a statement to the stock exchange.

Capral says a decision is expected later in the year.
