Austool Closes Its Doors
On the 1st of November, 2006 one day prior to the annual general meeting, Austool appointed Robert Moodie of Rodgers Reidy Chartered Accountants, as Voluntary Administrator to the Company.
Austool felt that they were ethically obligated to appoint an administrator as they could not be certain of meeting their ongoing debts. After reviewing the company’s position, the administrators decided to close Austool on the 27th of December 2006.
So unfortunately Austool is no more and as yet it is uncertain what the NSW state government will do with the Austool building at Ingleburn. ManufactureLink hopes the building will be used for the planned expansion of the Victorian CRC for advanced manufacturing. We will keep you posted on developments.
ManufactureLink is currently housed in Austool’s office building and as a result of the closure of Austool we will be relocating our office. This will not affect the running of ManufactureLink. ManufactureLink will relocate its offices to Queensland in early February. Our correspondence addresses and phone numbers will remain the same for sometime and changes will be notified accordingly.
Post Note:
Austool has since completely closed down and no longer exists as an organisation. Landcom have sold the building and it will no longer be exclusively for the use of the toolmaking industry.
AMTIL in partnership with ManufactureLink have now become the peak body in Australia servicing the tooling industry with more than 400 members.
