CRC Program Extended
2 Dec 08
The CRC Association has welcomed today’s announcement by Senator the Hon Kim Carr (Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research) calling for applications in the 11th funding Round of the CRC Program.
Mr Michael Hartmann, CEO of the CRC Association said “This is an exciting time for us. It is clear that the Labor Party are proud of the CRC Program and are entrenching it as a fundamental component of the reinvigorated National Innovation System.
“The Round was postponed due to the O’Kane and Cutler reviews. Now, following the Senator’s announcement, all bidding consortia can finally knuckle down and focus on the finer details of their applications.
“In addressing the design of the CRC Program, Senator Carr has utilised many of the O’Kane recommendations. The Program has been evolved to reflect changing times. Its attributes have been exploited and concerns have been addressed. Importantly the Program’s inherent flexibility has been reinforced.
“I encourage all applicants to attend the Innovation Department’s information seminars where answers can be provided for all your questions. The CRC Association will also be releasing some “How to” guides to assist prospective CRCs in their establishment.
“This is shaping to be the most hotly contested selection Round in the CRC Program’s 18 year history - a Round of Olympic proportions.
“Let the Games begin!”
