IBM leader to speak at Sydney Materials conference

Manager of the IBM Magnetoelectronics Group Dr Stuart Parkin, will be among an esteemed line up of speakers at the International Conference on Electronic Materials (ICEM 08) to be held in Sydney from 28 July – 1 August.
An IBM fellow, Dr Parkin was responsible for the creation of MRAM in 1995 and has most recently been working on a novel storage class memory device, The Magnetic Racetrack, which could replace both hard disk drives and many forms of conventional solid state memory.

- Former Clinton advisor Professor Mildred S. Dresselhaus
- India’s National Research Professor Rao
- Semiconductor pioneer Sir Richard Friend
- Kyoto University’s Professor Susumu Noda
