Quickstep Gets a Grant For Lightweight Composite Auto Components
26 Jun 09
Quickstep Holdings Ltd has secured a $2.6 million federal government grant to mass produce lightweight composite vehicle components for the aerospace and automotive industries using their advanced composite moulding technology.
The funds will be provided over a three year period under the $75 million AusIndustry Climate Ready Program.
Quickstep's grant will be used for the development and commercialisation of its composite manufacturing technology, Resin Spray Transmission.
The company says it wants to see strong uptake of "advanced composites" in vehicle manufacture, saving time and money and reducing carbon emissions because the vehicles would be lighter in weight.
