Industrial Accident Claims Life of 46 Year Old

19 Mar 08

In what is a grim reminder of why manufacturers need to be constantly vigalent on safety matters, a 46-year-old man has today been crushed to death in an industrial mixing machine at a factory in Sydney's west.

Police said the death occurred around 1am (AEDT) today in a car components factory at Wetherill Park.

"Upon arrival, officers located the body of a 46-year-old man," NSW police said.

"He had suffered severe injuries to much of his body after being crushed in an industrial mixer."

Police said a crime scene had been established and specialist forensics police were examining the area for clues.

A report will be prepared by police for the NSW Coroner.
