World's Smallest Precision Machined Part on Display at Austech

26 Mar 09

During Austech 2009 ManufactureLink will be displaying the world's smallest turned part along with other amazing, manufactured component examples to showcase niche manufacturing capability available through their network of advanced manufacturers.

The unbelievably tiny, surgical pin that will be displayed requires a microscope to even be seen. Other micro-machined components, laser-cut parts, Metal Injection Moulded (MIM) components, multi-shot moulded plastic products, and precision machined components will also be on display as examples of world class manufacturing available from Australian companies.

Anyone seeking advanced manufacturing solutions will be able to visit the ManufactureLink stand and find what they need either by talking to ManufactureLink's manufacturing experts, browsing the supplier showcase on display, or by searching ManufactureLink's online system which will be available live on-site. ManufactureLink welcomes challenges from Austech attendees to find any manufacturing capability they may be seeking, or to provide advice on how best to manufacture their industrial components.

ManufactureLink will also showcase the latest version of their innovative, online sourcing system. Launched at Austech 2006, ManufactureLink were the first Australian organisation to move the traditional custom manufacturing sourcing process to an efficient, online system. ManufactureLink has since continued to innovate and develop their technology and provide the world's most efficient, online sourcing system while still enabling traditional buyer-supplier relationships to be developed.

ManufactureLink's latest version being released in time for Austech features a capacity page for supplier profiles and unsolicited email blocking for profile contact forms. The capacity page allows a supplier to list their equipment, staff levels, CAD packages and more to give buyers a solid picture of their overall capability. For the first time since their launch, ManufactureLink's network now also includes New Zealand suppliers.

Austech is run in conjunction with National Manufacturing Week at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre from May 12 to 15. ManufactureLink can be found at stand D25 in the Austech pavillion.
