Continuous casting is a process where molten non-ferrous metal is poured into an open ended die. As the metal flows down the die it is immediately cooled by water jets resulting in a continuous section being cast. Lengths of the section are guillotined off to the required length. The molds can be vibrating or moving, slow or fast.
An example of a common use for continuous casting are to produce brass bushing material, copper wire, zinc sheeting, and aluminium roofing.
