Rotary laser cutting, laser tube cutting or laser pipe cutting is performed on a conventional laser cutting machine equipped with a rotary chuck. The machine controls the x and y movement of the bed simultaneously with the rotation of the chuck.

This process can be used to produce complex shaped cutouts on pipes for CO2 lasers, or finely detailed cutouts in small tubing for Nd-Yag lasers. Examples of applications for this type of cutting are:

• Cutouts for pipe joining.
• Cutouts in pipes for casing manufacturing.
• Slotting of pipes.
• Surgical stents.
• Endoscope equipment casings.
