Clam shells are typically clear plastic packaging vacuum formed from polycarbonate, PET or acrylic plastic. or a clam shell package can be foam moulded as in the case of foam hamburger style containers. A clam shell packages are made with 2 opposing halves to the package which fold and clip together to package the product.
Blister packages are commonly used to display products on supermarket racks and shelves. Another common use for blister packs is in the packaging of pharmaceuticals.
Typically most packaging of this type is vacuum formed or thermoformed. Clam shells and blister packs are usually a low cost packaging method.
