Section bending (also known as ring rolling) is a process used to form RHS, SHS, angle iron, channels, beams and other sections into curves and shapes for structural fabrication. Sections can also be rolled or bent to produce attractive curves for architectural steel construction. Other names commonly used for this process include channel bending, section rolling, tube rolling, channel rolling, angle rolling, angle bending, ring rolling, RHS rolling, SHS rolling.
Section bending is typically carried out by passing the section through a set or series of powerful rollers which impart the bend or curve to the section without any crinkling or creasing.
