Vacuum casting is a variation on normal die casting techniques. It involves producing a vacuum in a die cavity before the introduction of the molten metal. The vacuum casting technique eliminates the inclusion of air bubbles in the casting and enables finer detailed cavities to be fully filled.
With High Pressure Die Casting, molten metal is injected into the die under high pressure to eliminate voids and increase the density of the cast metal. Hi pressure die casting requires specialised equipment and expertise so casting companies will often specialise in this process.
