For high volume steel fabrication or in cases where consistent, high quality welds are required, robotic welding or automatic welding processes can be used. Robotic welding can mean 2 dimensional, production line style welding or full 3D welding movement using a robot arm which is the most common method. Robotic welding typically entails MIG welding, but robotic laser welders are also becoming more common.
