Coating and Plating Processes - Aluminium Anodizing, Titanium Anodizing
Anodizing is the process of slightly oxidising the surface of an aluminium component and impregnating the oxidised layer with a dye, imparting an attractive and corrosion resistant layer. Anodizing can come in a large variety of colours including clear. For best results a careful choice of aluminium grades is recommended as some grades do not anodize well.
Titanium anodizing is slightly different in that no dye is used. The various colours are imparted by varying the thickness of the oxidised layer which refract light in different ways to produce the colours.
