Finishing and Processing Services - Electropolishing
Electropolishing, also referred to as electrochemical polishing, is an electrochemical process that removes material from a metallic workpiece. It is used to polish, passivate, and deburr metal parts. It is often described as the reverse of electroplating.
Electropolishing is a non-mechanical method of polishing that has advantages such as being able to simultaneously polish the entire surface of a complex part with little human involvement makign it an ideal process for polishing mass-produced parts. The electropolishing process also applies no heat to the surface being polished.
Another, often unknown advantage of electropolishing is that the etching process typically removes any surface impurities first leaving a polished surface free of inclusions adn imperfections.
