Invisible Product Identification, Authentication and Security Marking
This category covers the application of nanotechnology to apply security marking to products to prevent counterfeiting, theft, protect intellectual property, or to identify and serial number products. Technology used for this purpose includes nano sized data dots or micro dots and invisible nanoparticles. This nano-marking technology is typically applied by blending the nano-sized identification particles with mediums such as paint, plastics, concrete, chemicals or explosives. The nanoparticle identifiers can also be woven into microthreads for protection of clothing designs.
