Coating and Plating Processes - Vacuum Metalising

Vacuum metalising is the process of evaporating a metal to apply a film to a component under vacuum. Vacuum metalising can impart bright, mirror finishes to components or apply films that give an attractive, deep lustre. Vacuum metalising can be used to coat both metallic and non-metallic surfaces. The most common metal applied using the vacuum metalising process is aluminium. A variety of base coats and finish coats are applied to the aluminium coating to give different finishes and colors.
